AP2934: TENDER NO: 7/2024 RE-ADVERTISMENT: BAVIAANS RIVER PHASE 2: CONSTRUCTION OF EROSION PROTECTION STRUCTURES IN BAVIAANS RIVER, GENADENDAL: GR 30 to GR 40
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
The works, as described, is part of the Disaster Management Programme for the Baviaans River situated next to Genadendal, Western Cape. The bid will be a measured bid for the works described and is to include material, labour and machinery. The works must be completed within a 7-month (definition as defined further) contract period.
The scope of works entails the construction of 11 (eleven) gabion structures (groynes) in the Baviaans River over an approximate distance of 1 km as well as rehabilitation work to Groynes 1 to 29 which was damaged by past floods.
Bidders must have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 6 CE or higher.
The tender process is as follows:
BID DEADLINE: The closing date for the bid is 29th January 2025 strictly at 12H00.
Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked as “BID NO 7/2024 – RE-ADVERTISMENT: BAVIAANS RIVER PHASE 2” and placed in the tender box available at Reception, Casidra’s Head Office, 22 Louws Avenue, Southern Paarl. No e-mailed, faxed, counter-to-counter courier or posted bids will be accepted.
It is preferred that bid document must be bound. Casidra cannot accept responsibility for lost single or stapled pages.
There will be a compulsory site meeting. The meeting will be held at the Genadendal Werf (opposite the Genadendal museum) situated in Moravia Street (GPS Co-ordinates: 34° 2’1.96″S, 19°33’27.41″E) on 10th December 2024 at 11:00. Notice of attendance to be given no later than 12:00 on 5th December 2024 as bid documents will be handed out at the site meeting. Please take note that bidders not attending the compulsory site meeting will not be eligible to submit a bid. A locality map (pdf format) with directions to the site is available on request.
Any deviations from the original tender document will be sent out as an addendum to the contractors attending the compulsory site meeting.
