TENDER 19/2024: RECONSTRUCTION OF NUWEBERG FOOTBRIDGE: HOTTENTOTS-HOLLAND NATURE RESERVE
The works, as described, are for an infrastructure project for Cape Nature at Hottentots-Holland Nature Reserve, the entrance to the nature reserve is at Nuweberg, in Viljoen’s Pass between Grabouw and Villiersdorp, Western Cape. The bid will be a measured bid for the works described and is to include material, labour and machinery. The works must be completed within a 4 month (definition as defined further) contract period.
The scope of works entails the construction of a steel footbridge with timber decking and concrete reinforced pier foundations spanning over the Palmiet River on the footprint of the previous bridge which had washed away by past floods.
Bidders must have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 3 CE or higher.
BID DEADLINE: The closing date for the bid is 21st February 2025 strictly at 12H00.
Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked as “TENDER NR: 19/2024 – RECONSTRUCTION OF THE NUWEBERG FOOTBRIDGE:HOTTENTOTS-HOLLAND NATURE RESERVE” and placed in the tender box available at Reception, Casidra’s Head Office, 22 Louws Avenue, Southern Paarl. No e-mailed, faxed, counter-to-counter courier or posted bids will be accepted.
BIDS MUST BE BOUND AS CASIDRA CANNOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOST SINGLE PAGES SUBMITTED.
COMPULSORY SITE MEETING:
The meeting will be held at the Hottentots Holland Cape Nature Nature Reserve Office, the entrance to the reserve is at Nuweberg, high in Viljoen’s Pass between Grabouw and Villiersdorp (GPS Co-ordinates: 34°04’19″S 19°03’21″E) on 11th February 2024 at 11:00.
Notice of attendance to be given to contact person aoosthuizen@casidra.co.za no later than 12:00 on 10th February 2024 as bid documents will be handed out at the site meeting. Please take note that bidders not attending the compulsory site meeting will not be eligible to submit a bid. A locality map (pdf format) with directions to the site is available on request.
Any deviations from the original tender document will be sent out as an addendum to the contractors attending the compulsory site meeting.
